Resident Library Cards

Anyone 8 years old or older, who lives in the Roanoke Rapids City limits or pays city taxes, is eligible for a free library card.

Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency. You may use a current driver’s license, a current bill, or a current piece of mail as verification. 

You must present your library card in order to check out material. Your card is updated annually. If you lose your card, please notify the library as soon as possible.

Non-Resident Library Cards

Patrons who reside in Halifax, Northampton and Warren Counties, as well as individuals employed in the Roanoke Rapids area and residing outside the counties mentioned, may purchase a Non-Resident Library card for a $20.00 annual fee.

You must present your library card in order to check out material. Your card is updated annually. If you lose your card, please notify the library as soon as possible.

Children’s Library Cards

Children between the ages of 8 and 14 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature in order to receive a library card and may only check out children’s material on such card.

Library Cards are not required for Internet Use

Internet service is available to our Library Patrons. Any misuse of the computer may result in the loss of this privilege. There is a charge to print information at the computers.
